This event serves three main purposes, the first of which is to install the volunteer Board of Directors who will create and monitor policies for the Chamber Foundation as well as accept fiduciary responsibility for the organization.

The second purpose is to raise funds for the Young Leadership Collaborative (YLC) now entering its 15th year as a premier program focused on preparing young adults for entrepreneurship. YLC was designed to increase the number of youths who can develop their own economic capacities to succeed through personal finance and exploration into the world of entrepreneurship, develop a continuous reservoir of prospective young entrepreneurs, provide scholarships and equip future business leaders. The program has graduated nearly 200 students from the Sacramento Region’s high schools, colleges and universities since 2009. The age range for the students accepted into the program is 16 to 23 years old.

Third, each year we acknowledge, honor and present awards in three categories:

• Small Business of the Year
• Champion of the Year
