SCOPE:
The purpose of this contract is to supply construction services in Downtown Sacramento in the road right-of-way in high pedestrian and vehicular traffic to repair or modify existing high voltage electrical facilities, or build new high voltage electrical structures or facilities in Downtown Sacramento in a timely manner.
The intent of these specifications is to describe the work and to provide appropriate pay items. Some of the items and quantities in the Bid Schedule may not be utilized. Others may be partially used or exceeded. No adjustment of unit prices will be made for under-runs or overruns of the quantities listed in the Bid Schedule.
The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to accomplish the work in accordance with the Contract and Engineers instructions. The work generally consists of the following scope and will be located in Downtown Sacramento: constructing cast in place reinforced concrete structures, setting reinforced precast concrete structures and service boxes, trench excavation in concrete and asphalt, installing conduit duct banks including determining conduit route when conflicts are encountered, performing structural repairs on underground electric vaults and structure foundation repairs including epoxy injection and spall repair, surface preparation of spalled concrete, applying concrete repair products and waterproof coating systems, reinforcing steel treatments, and complete concrete roof replacement of an underground high voltage electrical structure housing energized electrical equipment and cables including falsework construction and reinforced concrete manhole/vault roof construction. The work further includes replacement of vault frame and covers, vault steel grate replacements, constructing, modifying, or repairing any existing high voltage electrical support structure, slab, or facility as the need arises. Excavation, grading, and asphalt concrete paving, and providing as-built drawings are also part of this contract, or any other construction related needs per SMUD drawings and Specifications. Night work will be required based on the restrictions set by the City of Sacramento. The work is further described in the Technical Conditions.
