Calling All Dreamers!
I wanted to inform you and your network that applications for Downtown Sacramento Foundation’s Calling All Dreamers business incubation program open August 1st and will remain open for the duration of August. We’re looking for innovative and unique retail, experience, and food business concepts that compliment and strengthen downtown Sacramento. First-time entrepreneurs and experienced business owners are welcome to submit business concepts. Applications are open for:
- Business owners looking to expand their home-based business into a brick-and-mortar location
- Cottage-licensed, food truck, or market-based business owners looking to expand their business into a brick-and-mortar location
- Business owners looking to open a second location of their business
- Business owners looking for a larger space for their brick-and-mortar location
The program will run September 2024 – February 2025. Every year 10 business concepts are chosen by the selection committee from the applicant pool to participate in the program.
During the program, participants are paired with a business mentor from SCORE who assists them in building out their business plan and financial projections. They attend 10-12 business workshops that focus on a variety of relevant topics including marketing, HR policies, staffing, available storefront properties, team building, financing options, and more.
After several months, the top five concepts are chosen to move forward and complete the program. The top five concepts are then eligible to receive a cash infusion for their business provided they complete the program and sign a lease in the Downtown Sacramento Partnership’s district within one year.
Application requirements can be found on the Calling All Dreamers website. The DSP district map can be viewed here.
