MotherWit Magazine is an African American/Urban Family/Parenting publication that educates, informs, and inspires readers to rediscover and apply principles that make for healthier families. We depict ordinary life that demonstrates extraordinary consistency and resolve when facing challenges. MotherWit speaks to families from a common ground perspective through a culturally competent lens. Our publication provides real-world and relevant editorial that speaks directly to the needs of our nation’s families. Our content focuses on developing quality family life and restoring family and community relationships. MotherWit Magazine’s columns and department are carefully crafted to assist families in becoming self-advocates. We unearth, retool, refine, and then chronicle the contributions of those with “lived experiences” so that we who are concerned and determined people can draw strength and wisdom from their lives for our families. Our working definition of the element called “motherwit” is a combination of “seasoned wisdom steeped in common-sense intelligence.” TM
