Imani, a Swahili word meaning “faith,” embodies the African philosophy of community. Here in the heart of Sacramento, the word represents the faith that we as students have in the strength of our community, and the faith we hope to foster within our community. Imani Clinic wants the people of the community it serves to have faith in the health-care system, and the ability of the health-care system to address the medical needs and social realities present in their everyday lives. Imani Clinic provides basic healthcare services to the underserved Oak Park community with our target population being African Americans within the community. We provide acute and chronic primary care including but not limited to: full physical exams, prescription refills, health education, pap smears, pregnancy testing, HIV/STD testing, birth control prescriptions, depression screening & counseling, substance abuse screening & counseling, and much more.
