Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento builds and preserves homes for low-income families and seniors and revitalizes neighborhoods in under-served communities. Our program predominantly serves people of color – providing housing and equity opportunities to those who through systemic racism have been shut out of opportunities for home ownership and equity building for decades.
Annually through home build, home preservation, and community projects – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento serves between 1,000-3,000 people annually.
Habitat engages 2,000 volunteers a year and is powered through local donations and sales from the Habitat retail store “The ReStore” which operates like a “Lowes meets Goodwill” by selling new and used donated building supplies, appliances, and home furnishings at 50-80% off retail. The ReStore diverts over 975,000 lbs. of usable materials a year from landfill while supporting building and repairing homes for those in need through nearly $1.2 million in annual sales.
