Roderick “Rod” Brewer

Rod Brewer is a State Public Affairs Advisor for Southern California Edison (SCE), where he serves as an in-house lobbyist and supports the development and conveyance of SCE’s external relations, constituent affairs, and business priorities with the State Legislature and related external stakeholders.
Prior to working for SCE, Rod served many years as a policy consultant, legislative director and legislative aide for legislators in the U.S. House of Representatives and the California Legislature working on a broad range of issues, including, but not limited to, economic development, energy, utilities, emergency preparedness, privacy, public safety, and transportation.
Rod is also a member of the Elk Grove City Council, where he was elected to serve the eastern and southern neighborhoods in November 2022. Before the Elk Grove City Council, Rod represented Elk Grove and Galt as an elected member of the Cosumnes Community Services District Board of Directors from 2010 to 2022. As director, Rod spearheaded efforts to expand Elk Grove’s parks and recreation system, collaborated with firefighters and district executives to further improve the standard of excellence for the Cosumnes Fire Department, and worked diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of Elk Grove and Galt residents during the Great Recession and the COVID-19 pandemic.
